Senior QA Engineer

Position Overview

We are looking for an experienced Senior QA Engineer in Salem, Virginia, to lead software testing and help deliver exceptional software to our customers. The Senior QA Engineer is primarily responsible for designing, developing and executing both automated and manual test cases against Nicus’ software products.  We are looking for someone to lead the effort in taking our QA processes to the next level.

This role will be focused on guiding and improving software quality assurance for our web-based products while closely working with the Development, Product, and other teams.  This position will play an integral part in driving our products forward.  Strong communication skills, the ability to juggle multiple tasks while meeting deadlines, and the willingness to work cooperatively are all critical skills for this position.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Define and establish QA strategy and process.
  • Lead QA design, development, and documentation.
  • Develop and execute test cases to diagnose issues and defects, creating test data as needed.
  • Create, execute, and maintain manual and automated tests.
  • Participate in defining and communicating best practices.
  • Improve and automate test strategies and software configurations.
  • Define test strategies and procedures for tracking and fixing issues.

Qualifications include:

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, MIS, or equivalent technology discipline required.
  • 5+ years of experience in development or quality assurance.
  • 3+ years in quality assurance automation.
  • Experience in implementing test cases with automation frameworks.
  • Experience working in an Agile environment.
  • Experience working with high data volumes.
  • Experience with the Microsoft .NET Framework.
  • Experience with Microsoft SQL Server.
  • Experience with web-based testing tools and frameworks, such as Selenium.
